Projektbeschreibung

The Petersbrunnhofstöckl, in its basic structure, dates back to the 17th century and was an outbuilding of the Petersbrunn pleasure palace, which no longer exists today. Over the centuries, massive changes were made, including a gutting in the 20th century. After the new “House of Folk Cultures” was built next door, the building stands empty. The Salzburg Castles and Palaces Management Office is now moving in as the new user.

The four “contemporary witnesses”: The Petersbrunnhofstöckl forms an inner courtyard with the surrounding buildings. These square-forming buildings have partly historical, partly historicizing facades on the outside. The entrances to the houses, however, have an appearance that corresponds to the architectural spirit of the time in which they were built.

Like the Orchestra and Theater House with their glass facades from the 1990s, and the House of Folk Cultures from the 2010s, the Petersbrunnhofstöckl is also intended to form a contemporary conclusion to this square situation.

In order to ensure heat resilience in view of climate change, especially in summer, a trellis was erected in front of the building to ensure a positive microclimate.

This tangible trellis, which opens up an architectural space with the intermediate area of the entrance stairs, is an important part of the scenery.

These quote the classicist access and driveway ramps of historically representative entrances around a central projection that is now growing green.

The interior continues the newly designed appearance from the outside through the character-giving elements of the railings. The central access area was given a friendly, light-flooded character and now offers space for current project presentations and meetings.
